GTA 6 Weapons Guide: Every Gun and Weapon Spotted in Leonida So Far
GTA 6 is finally getting close enough that its weapons are becoming much easier to identify. Rockstar Games has already shown pistols, revolvers, assault rifles, SMGs, shotguns, sniper rifles, melee weapons, throwables, and heavy weapons across official trailers, screenshots, and promotional material. Some have recognizable in game names, while others have only been identified by their appearance and their real world counterparts.
That makes the GTA 6 weapons list a little confusing right now. A weapon can be clearly visible in an official screenshot without Rockstar giving it an official name. Some names used by GTA fans and database sites are also based on the fictional manufacturers shown on the weapons rather than names Rockstar has directly announced.
So this guide separates what has actually been shown from what is still based on weapon identification and community analysis. It also looks at the GTA 6 weapon system, customization, carrying limits, vehicle storage, melee weapons, hunting guns, and the questions that still have no clear answer.
Rockstar has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The official Ultimate Edition also confirms personalized weapon variants and the Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers. That gives us a much stronger starting point than older GTA 6 rumors. This is not the final GTA 6 weapon count. Rockstar has not released a complete list, and several weapons visible in promotional footage have not been given public names.
How Many Weapons Will GTA 6 Have?
This is one of the most common questions about the new game, but there is currently no official number.
The reason is simple. Rockstar has shown a large amount of weapon footage, but it has not said, “GTA 6 will contain this many weapons.” Different weapon databases count individual models, variants, and unnamed weapons in different ways.
That means claims about an exact number should be treated carefully.
Several community databases have already identified more than 30 weapons or weapon types from trailers, screenshots, and promotional material. GTA Intel, for example, maintains a large GTA 6 weapons database containing weapons across several categories. GTA Intel GTA 6 weapons database
Other weapon lists use a smaller number because they only count weapons that can be identified with a high level of confidence.
Both approaches make sense.
A blurry rifle on a television screen inside a trailer is not the same thing as a named weapon that Rockstar has placed in its Ultimate Edition description. This is why the safest GTA 6 weapons guide should separate confirmed information from identification and speculation.

GTA 6 Pistols and Handguns
Pistols look like they will remain some of the most important weapons in GTA 6. Jason and Lucia are both shown using handguns in different situations, including robberies, vehicle combat, and close range encounters.
What stands out this time is how much more personality some pistols seem to have.
Rather than simply giving the player a generic pistol, Rockstar appears to be using fictional manufacturers, different finishes, engravings, and character specific versions to make individual weapons feel more personal.
GTA 6 Klose K17
The Klose K17 is one of the pistols associated with Lucia and appears to be inspired by modern polymer framed handguns. Weapon identification sites generally compare its design with pistols such as the Glock 17, while some databases also point to similarities with the SIG Sauer P320.
The important part is not the exact real world comparison. The important part is that the weapon has a distinct fictional identity inside GTA 6.
Rockstar also shows a personalized version connected with the Ultimate Edition. The weapon has additional detailing that makes it different from a basic version.
This could be a sign that GTA 6 will put more attention on weapon appearance than GTA 5 did.
That does not automatically mean every weapon will have dozens of cosmetic options. Rockstar has not explained the full system yet. It does mean personalized weapons are now clearly part of the game’s promotional material.
GTA 6 Girardi ES9
The Girardi ES9 is another important GTA 6 pistol. Its design is strongly associated with the Beretta 92FS, and Jason can be seen using the weapon in official footage.
Unlike a weapon that only appears in the background, the Girardi ES9 gets a clear action scene. Jason fires it while leaning out of a moving vehicle, which gives us a good look at its shape.
GTA weapon databases identify the Girardi ES9 as a brand new weapon for the series and connect it with a personalized Jason variant. Girardi ES9 weapon breakdown
The personalized version is especially interesting because it supports the idea that GTA 6 will treat certain weapons as part of the characters rather than just another item in an inventory.
GTA 6 Morgan Revolver
The Hawk & Little Morgan Revolver is one of the few GTA 6 weapons that Rockstar has actually named in its official sales material.
Rockstar describes the Ultimate Edition versions as personalized revolvers with Vice City styling. The official description also connects them with the Vercetti Estate, making the weapon more than just another gun. It is also a callback to the older Vice City era.
The official GTA VI editions page lists the Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers as part of the Ultimate Edition content. Official Rockstar GTA VI Ultimate Edition details
That is a useful distinction when looking at the GTA 6 weapons list. Unlike some weapon names circulating online, “Hawk & Little Morgan” is directly supported by Rockstar’s own material.
GTA 6 Mustang .357
The Mustang .357 is another revolver spotted in official GTA 6 imagery.
Its shape has been compared with the Colt Python, especially because of its long barrel and classic revolver profile. The name also uses .357, which matches the ammunition association of the real world Colt Python.
The weapon appears to carry Duke Arms branding, giving GTA 6 another example of how Rockstar uses fictional gun manufacturers instead of simply using real firearm company names.
The Mustang .357 has also been cataloged by GTA weapon databases as a revolver that can be customized. Mustang .357 GTA 6 weapon details
GTA 6 Assault Rifles and Carbines
If there is one weapon class that looks especially important in GTA 6, it is the assault rifle and carbine category.
Several rifles have already appeared in official promotional material. Some are clearly based on familiar modern military rifles, while Rockstar has given them fictional names and manufacturers.
Duke Arms Carbine
The Duke Arms Carbine is one of the clearest rifles shown in GTA 6 material.
Its design is based on the AR platform and has been compared with the Colt LE6920 family. The fictional manufacturer is Duke Arms Company.
This is not the first time Rockstar has used Duke Arms. The fictional manufacturer has appeared in the wider Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead universe, which makes its return another small connection between Rockstar’s games.
The rifle has the classic shape you would expect from a modern carbine, with a relatively compact design that makes sense for the close and medium range combat shown in GTA 6.
GTA Base lists the Duke Carbine as an assault rifle that can be modified with attachments and tints. Duke Carbine GTA 6 weapon details
Duke Arms Special Ops Carbine
The Special Ops Carbine looks like a more customized version of the same general rifle family.
Its design is commonly compared with the M4A1 Block II. The rifle has a more tactical appearance, with a different front setup and visible accessories.
One interesting thing about this weapon is that it shows why GTA 6 weapon counting can become confusing.
Are the Duke Carbine and Special Ops Carbine two completely different guns?
Or are they different configurations of the same basic weapon?
At the moment, the safest answer is to list them separately because they appear as distinct weapon designs. However, Rockstar has not provided enough information to explain whether they share the same underlying statistics.
GTA Base identifies the Special Ops Carbine as an M4A1 Block II inspired weapon manufactured by Duke Arms and notes that attachments and tints can be used. Special Ops Carbine details
Another Duke M4 Style Rifle
Another rifle seen in GTA 6 footage appears to be closely related to the M4A1 family.
Raul Bautista is shown carrying a shorter rifle with a different sight and stock arrangement. It also carries Duke Arms branding.
Some weapon analysts believe this could simply be a heavily modified version of another Duke rifle rather than a completely separate gun.
That is an important point when reading online GTA 6 weapons lists. A weapon with a different stock, sight, magazine, or barrel does not necessarily mean Rockstar has created an entirely new weapon.
GTA 6 SMGs and Machine Guns
Submachine guns make a lot of sense for GTA 6 because Rockstar has shown Jason and Lucia getting into plenty of close range fights and vehicle based action.
Compact weapons are especially useful for scenes where a character needs to shoot while moving through a vehicle or a tight indoor location.
MP5 Style SMG
One of the clearest SMGs shown in GTA 6 footage has a design that resembles the Heckler & Koch MP5 family.
There has been some debate about whether the weapon is closer to an MP5 or another older submachine gun design. That is why it is better to call it an MP5 style weapon until Rockstar provides an official name.
The weapon fits the look of the game’s criminal groups and close range combat scenes.
MAC 10 and Uzi Style Weapons
Other compact SMGs have been identified in promotional imagery and community weapon catalogs.
These include weapons that look similar to the MAC 10 and Uzi families.
However, the exact identification of some of these weapons is less certain than the named pistols and revolvers.
For that reason, these should not be presented as officially confirmed Rockstar weapon names.
They are better described as weapon designs spotted in official GTA 6 material and identified through their appearance.
Why SMGs Could Be Important in GTA 6
Vehicle combat could make SMGs much more useful than they were in some GTA 5 situations.
Jason and Lucia are repeatedly shown around cars, boats, motorcycles, and fast moving situations. A compact weapon is easier to use in those situations than a long rifle.
If Rockstar also introduces a stricter weapon carrying system, the choice between a pistol, SMG, shotgun, and rifle could become more meaningful.

GTA 6 Shotguns
Shotguns are another category that fits the setting extremely well.
Brevard Youth Football Parents Raise Heat and Safety Concerns as 2026 Season Gets More Heated
Leonida is not only a neon filled city. Rockstar has shown rural roads, wetlands, small communities, hunting areas, and large stretches of open countryside.
That means traditional hunting weapons can fit naturally into the world.
Double Barrel Shotgun
The double barrel shotgun is one of the clearest examples.
It appears in rural footage and is associated with the hunting side of Leonida. One official image shows a character using a shotgun while dealing with an alligator in the Grass River area.
The weapon has the simple two barrel design that GTA players already know, but its placement in the rural part of the map gives it a different purpose.
Instead of every gun being something carried by gang members or police, GTA 6 appears to be using weapons to help show the differences between parts of Leonida.
Pump Action and Tactical Shotguns
Other shotgun designs have been spotted in the Ammu Nation advertising footage and promotional scenes.
Community weapon identification has pointed toward pump action and tactical shotgun designs, including models that resemble the Remington 870 and Benelli M4.
These identifications should still be treated as comparisons rather than official names.
The most useful thing for players is that GTA 6 clearly has more than one shotgun design.
That gives the weapon category more variety and could become important if Rockstar adds different magazine sizes, attachments, damage ranges, or reload behavior.
GTA 6 Sniper Rifles and Hunting Rifles
Long range weapons have also appeared in the footage.
This is another category that makes sense because Leonida has large outdoor areas where a player can be farther away from targets.
Remington 700 Style Bolt Action Rifle
A bolt action rifle resembling the Remington 700 family has been identified in GTA 6 material.
The classic bolt action design is especially suitable for hunting scenes and long range shooting.
It also fits the rural side of Leonida much better than a modern military rifle would.
Duke Arms Assault Sniper Rifle
Another rifle from Duke Arms appears to sit in the more modern sniper and marksman category.
It has a larger optic and a more tactical setup than the traditional hunting rifle.
This gives players two very different styles of long range weapon. One looks designed around hunting and rural use, while the other fits military and tactical situations.
Community databases have already cataloged the Duke assault sniper rifle as a GTA 6 weapon. The exact final statistics, damage, ammunition, and magazine size are not yet available.
GTA 6 Melee Weapons
Not every fight in GTA 6 will involve a firearm.
Rockstar has shown several melee weapons, and some of them are ordinary objects that fit naturally into the environment.
Baseball Bat
The baseball bat is one of the most familiar GTA melee weapons.
It has appeared throughout the series and is a natural fit for GTA’s criminal world.
Its presence in GTA 6 is hardly surprising, but seeing it alongside other environmental weapons suggests that melee options will continue to be part of the game’s wider combat system.
Hammer
The hammer is another simple weapon spotted in GTA 6 footage.
It is the type of item that can easily exist as a normal object in the world before becoming a weapon during a fight.
That small detail could make the world feel more connected because the player is not always picking up something that was clearly placed there only for combat.
Pool Cue
The pool cue is another weapon shown in GTA 6 material.
It fits the game’s bars, clubs, and entertainment locations and could be useful during fights in those areas.
This is one of those weapons that looks more interesting because of where it can appear rather than because of its damage potential.
Golf Club and Mini Golf Club
Golf related weapons have also been spotted.
The larger golf club is familiar from previous GTA games, while the appearance of a smaller mini golf club adds another funny environmental detail.
It also shows how Rockstar is using ordinary recreational objects in the world instead of filling every location with obvious weapons.
Knife
The knife is another expected part of the GTA 6 melee lineup.
Knives have been present throughout the series and are especially useful for players who want a quiet close range option.
Fists
Of course, Jason and Lucia do not need to carry anything to fight.
Hand to hand combat is shown in the trailers, and the animations appear more detailed than what players saw in older GTA games.
It will be interesting to see whether the final game introduces different fighting styles for Jason and Lucia or whether both characters share the same basic combat system.
There is no official confirmation that the protagonists will have completely different fighting systems, so that part should remain speculation for now.
GTA 6 Heavy Weapons
The heavy weapon category is not being forgotten.
The most obvious example so far is the grenade launcher.
GTA 6 Grenade Launcher
The grenade launcher appears during one of the most explosive scenes shown in GTA 6 footage.
Lucia can be seen using a launcher while attacking police vehicles during a moving vehicle sequence.
This is strong evidence that heavy weapons will remain part of the game’s major action sequences.
What we do not know yet is whether the weapon will function exactly like the GTA 5 grenade launcher or whether Rockstar has changed its ammunition system, reload animation, range, or handling.
Those details will probably become clearer when Rockstar releases more gameplay footage.
Rocket Launcher
Rocket launchers are frequently included on GTA 6 weapons lists, but this is an area where readers should be careful.
Some databases and articles identify rocket launcher style weapons from promotional material or community analysis. However, Rockstar has not published a full official weapon list confirming every heavy weapon that will be available at launch.
So a rocket launcher is reasonable to expect because of the series history, but it should not be presented as officially named GTA 6 equipment until Rockstar confirms it.
Speargun
The speargun is one of the more interesting weapons associated with GTA 6.
It makes sense because Leonida includes large water areas, rivers, wetlands, and coastal environments.
If the weapon appears in the final game as expected, it could give underwater gameplay a more useful purpose instead of simply being a place where players swim.
However, the exact role of the speargun should remain marked as unconfirmed until Rockstar gives more information.
GTA 6 Throwables
Throwables add another part to the GTA 6 combat system.
The footage and promotional material point toward familiar items such as grenades, smoke grenades, flashbangs, and Molotov cocktails.
Grenades
Standard grenades are expected to return.
They are useful for groups of enemies, vehicles, police encounters, and situations where shooting every target individually would take too long.
Smoke Grenades
Smoke grenades have also been identified in GTA 6 weapon databases and promotional material.
Their actual gameplay purpose is still unclear.
If Rockstar gives them a stronger role in stealth, police searches, or tactical encounters, they could become much more useful than they were in earlier GTA games.
Flashbangs
Flashbangs are another throwable that has been associated with GTA 6.
These would fit naturally into robberies and close range fights, especially if Rockstar has expanded enemy reactions and combat behavior.
Again, the exact effects are not known yet.
Molotov Cocktails
The Molotov remains one of the classic GTA throwable weapons.
It fits the chaotic side of the series and could become especially useful in outdoor fights where fire can spread across vehicles and other objects.
Golf Balls
Golf balls are one of the more unusual items appearing in GTA 6 weapon lists.
They are not exactly a traditional combat weapon, but GTA has always allowed ordinary objects and activities to become part of its chaos.
The presence of golf balls also fits with the amount of attention Rockstar appears to be giving recreational locations around Leonida.

GTA 6 Weapon Customization Could Be Much Better
One of the biggest questions is not simply how many GTA 6 weapons there will be. It is how much players can change them.
Several weapons shown in official material have visible differences in optics, stocks, magazines, grips, colors, and other attachments.
That suggests weapon customization will play a bigger role than simply choosing a gun and leaving it untouched.
GTA 5 already allowed weapon upgrades and attachments, but GTA 6 appears to be taking a more detailed approach.
The Duke Arms rifles are a good example. Similar looking rifles can appear with different sights and other parts, which makes it difficult to tell whether Rockstar is showing separate weapons or heavily customized versions of the same base model.
This is actually good news for players.
If GTA 6 allows more meaningful customization, one rifle could potentially serve several roles depending on how it is configured.
A compact setup could work better during vehicle combat. A longer barrel and optic could be more useful at range. A shotgun could be configured for close range fighting instead of simply being treated as one fixed weapon.
Rockstar has not published a complete attachment list yet, so claims about specific attachments should be treated as observations from footage rather than final specifications.
Will GTA 6 Have a Limited Weapon Inventory?
This is probably the biggest gameplay question surrounding the GTA 6 weapon system.
In GTA 5, the player can carry an absurd number of weapons without worrying about physical storage. You can move from a pistol to an assault rifle, then a shotgun, sniper rifle, rocket launcher, and melee weapon with the weapon wheel.
That system is convenient, but it is not very realistic.
GTA 6 appears to be moving toward a more physical approach.
Some footage and community analysis have pointed toward weapons being stored in vehicles rather than allowing Jason or Lucia to carry their entire collection at once.
That would be similar in spirit to the system used in Red Dead Redemption 2, where weapons were connected to the player’s horse rather than magically appearing from nowhere.
However, it is important not to call this fully confirmed until Rockstar explains it directly.
How Vehicle Weapon Storage Could Change GTA 6
If Rockstar does use vehicle storage, it could change how players approach missions.
Imagine driving into a rural area with a shotgun and hunting rifle in the trunk. You leave the vehicle and walk through the countryside. You would not necessarily have every assault rifle and heavy weapon available instantly.
Then imagine a robbery in Vice City.
You could prepare your car before the mission and choose which weapons you want to take with you.
That would make the vehicle more than just transportation.
It could become part of your loadout.
This system could also explain why Rockstar has shown characters interacting with vehicles so heavily. Cars are already central to GTA, but using them as weapon storage would make them more important during combat.
It would also create a simple reason for players to think about preparation before starting a mission.
Will Jason and Lucia Have Different Weapons?
Jason and Lucia are both shown using different weapons throughout the promotional material.
The most obvious difference comes from the personalized weapons associated with the characters.
Rockstar’s official Ultimate Edition information specifically mentions personalized weapon variants, which confirms that customized character associated weapons are part of the game’s premium content. Rockstar’s official GTA VI Ultimate Edition information
What is not confirmed is whether Jason and Lucia will have completely different weapon inventories.
It would be interesting if certain weapons were tied to a character, but there is no reliable official information saying that one protagonist will be unable to use a particular weapon.
For now, it is safer to think of the personalized pistols and revolvers as special variants rather than evidence of completely separate weapon systems.
GTA 6 Weapons and the Leonida Map
The weapon selection makes more sense when you look at the entire setting.
GTA 6 is not simply another game set inside a large city.
Leonida includes Vice City along with rural locations, wetlands, highways, coastlines, smaller communities, and outdoor areas.
That gives Rockstar room to use different weapon types for different parts of the map.
A sniper rifle makes sense on open land.
A shotgun fits a hunting area.
An SMG works well inside a nightclub or during a vehicle chase.
A revolver fits a character involved with a biker group.
A speargun makes sense around the water.
A pool cue belongs in a bar.
A golf club belongs on a golf course.
This connection between weapons and locations could make the arsenal feel more natural.
Why the GTA 6 Gun Designs Look More Detailed
One thing that becomes obvious when looking at GTA 6 screenshots is the amount of detail on individual weapons.
Guns have visible manufacturers, markings, finishes, accessories, and different configurations.
That does not mean every weapon is completely unique.
Rockstar may be using a relatively small number of weapon platforms and creating different variants around them.
That would explain why some rifles look almost identical while having different accessories.
It also gives the developers more room to balance the game without creating dozens of completely separate weapon systems.
For players, the visual difference still matters.
When two rifles look different and have different attachments, they feel different even if their basic gameplay statistics are close.
GTA 6 Weapons Compared With GTA 5
GTA 5 launched with a large selection of weapons covering pistols, SMGs, rifles, shotguns, sniper rifles, heavy weapons, explosives, and melee items.
GTA Online then expanded that selection dramatically through years of updates.
GTA 6 has a difficult job because players now expect a large arsenal from the beginning.
At the same time, Rockstar appears to be paying more attention to how weapons physically exist in the world.
The big difference may not be the number of guns.
It could be how players acquire, carry, customize, and use them.
If GTA 6 gives players fewer weapons on their person but more weapon variations overall, the game could feel very different from GTA 5 even if the final weapon count is similar.
Will GTA 6 Have Ammu Nation?
Ammu Nation has appeared in GTA 6 promotional material.
One of the most interesting weapon related moments is an Ammu Nation advertisement that shows a wide range of firearms.
Weapon analysts have used the advertisement to identify several rifle, shotgun, SMG, and machine gun designs.
However, because the weapons appear in an advertisement within the game, identifying every firearm on the shelves is harder than identifying a weapon held directly by Jason or Lucia.
This is another reason why weapon guides should not treat every background firearm as a confirmed launch weapon.
Still, the advertisement gives us a useful look at the wider variety Rockstar is preparing.
What GTA 6 Weapon Names Are Official?
This is an area where many online lists become confusing.
Some names come directly from Rockstar.
Others come from weapon databases.
Others are simply descriptions based on real world firearms.
The Hawk & Little Morgan Revolver is officially named by Rockstar.
The Girardi ES9 and Klose K17 have also been widely cataloged under those names in GTA 6 weapon databases and official promotional material.
But a weapon described as an “MP5 style SMG” is not necessarily officially called MP5 in the game.
Rockstar generally uses fictional firearm brands and names in GTA, so the real world comparison is mainly useful for helping players understand what the weapon looks like.
For example, the Girardi ES9 can be compared with the Beretta 92FS because of its design, but the fictional GTA weapon remains the Girardi ES9.
GTA 6 Weapon Leaks Versus Official Information
There is a lot of GTA 6 weapon information online, but not all of it deserves the same level of trust.
Official Rockstar trailers and screenshots should be at the top of the list.
Official product pages come next because Rockstar directly controls the information shown there.
Detailed weapon databases can then help identify designs and connect them with screenshots.
Community leaks should sit separately.
Leaks can sometimes be accurate, but they can also contain unfinished content, old development assets, placeholder names, or information that Rockstar later removes.
This guide therefore does not treat every leaked GTA 6 gun as confirmed.
That distinction is especially important now that the game is getting closer to launch and Rockstar is releasing more official material.
What Could Be Revealed Next?
Rockstar has scheduled Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look for August 27, 2026.
The company says the extended look will premiere on Netflix and YouTube, giving players another official piece of GTA 6 footage to study. Rockstar Games announcement for the GTA VI Extended Look
That could change this entire GTA 6 weapons list.
A longer gameplay presentation could reveal additional rifles, pistols, shotguns, explosives, melee weapons, attachments, weapon animations, and inventory features.
It could also finally answer the question of how many weapons Jason and Lucia can physically carry.
For that reason, weapon lists published before the extended look should not be treated as final.
GTA 6 Weapon Questions Still Waiting for Answers
How many guns will GTA 6 have?
Rockstar has not announced a final weapon count. More than 30 weapons or weapon types have been identified by community databases, but the exact number of usable weapons at launch remains unknown.
Will GTA 6 have weapon customization?
Official screenshots and weapon databases show multiple customized weapon designs. Rockstar’s Ultimate Edition also confirms personalized weapon variants. The complete attachment system has not been explained yet.
Will GTA 6 have a weapon wheel?
A weapon selection system is expected because GTA has used one for years, but Rockstar has not published a complete explanation of the final weapon wheel design.
Can you store weapons in your car?
Vehicle based weapon storage has been discussed heavily by the GTA community and appears connected to some footage analysis, but Rockstar has not yet provided a complete official explanation of the system.
Will GTA 6 have a rocket launcher?
Rocket launcher style weapons have appeared in GTA 6 weapon databases and community analysis, but the complete official launch arsenal has not been announced.
Will GTA 6 have a grenade launcher?
Yes, a grenade launcher is clearly visible in official GTA 6 footage and is one of the strongest confirmed heavy weapon appearances so far.
Will GTA 6 have sniper rifles?
Yes. Multiple sniper and hunting rifle designs have been identified in official GTA 6 material, including a Duke Arms rifle and a Remington 700 style bolt action weapon.
Will GTA 6 have melee weapons?
Yes. Baseball bats, hammers, knives, pool cues, golf clubs, and fists have all appeared in official material.
Will GTA 6 have underwater weapons?
A speargun has been associated with GTA 6 weapon databases and weapon identification work. Its final availability and exact gameplay role should still be treated cautiously until Rockstar confirms it directly.
The Most Interesting GTA 6 Weapons So Far
If I had to narrow the current list down to the weapons that tell us the most about the game, I would pick the personalized pistols, Duke rifles, Morgan revolvers, double barrel shotgun, grenade launcher, and the different environmental melee weapons.
The reason is not simply that they look cool.
Each one tells us something about how Rockstar is building Leonida.
The personalized pistols show character detail.
The Duke rifles show modern weapon customization.
The Morgan revolvers connect GTA 6 with Vice City history.
The double barrel shotgun fits rural Leonida.
The grenade launcher shows that the series still has room for completely ridiculous action.
The pool cues, golf clubs, and hammers show that the environment itself can become part of combat.
That mix is probably more important than the final weapon count.
What the GTA 6 Arsenal Tells Us About Combat
The current weapon lineup suggests Rockstar is trying to balance two different sides of GTA.
One side is the familiar chaos.
Rocket launchers, grenade launchers, explosives, automatic rifles, and vehicle shootouts are still part of the experience.
The other side is more grounded.
Personalized pistols, hunting rifles, revolvers, environmental melee weapons, weapon storage, and detailed attachments make the world feel more physical.
That combination is probably the biggest thing to watch.
GTA has never been a military simulator and it does not need to become one. The fun comes from letting the player move between realistic situations and complete madness within a few minutes.
GTA 6 appears to be keeping that idea while giving the weapons more detail.
Final GTA 6 Weapons Verdict
The GTA 6 weapons list is already much larger than the few guns shown in the first trailer. Official footage and promotional material have revealed pistols, revolvers, assault rifles, carbines, SMGs, shotguns, sniper rifles, melee weapons, heavy weapons, and several types of throwables.
The most important confirmed weapon related details include the Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers, personalized weapon variants, Duke Arms rifles, the Girardi ES9, Klose K17, Mustang .357, grenade launcher, double barrel shotgun, and a growing selection of melee weapons.
At the same time, several popular GTA 6 weapons lists go beyond what Rockstar has officially named. Those lists are useful for identifying weapons, but they should be read as a combination of confirmed footage and weapon analysis rather than an official Rockstar database.
The biggest unanswered question is not actually whether GTA 6 will have enough guns.
It clearly will.
The bigger question is how Rockstar wants players to carry and use them.
If the final game really limits weapons on the player’s body and makes vehicle storage important, the weapon system could feel very different from GTA 5. Instead of instantly switching between an entire arsenal, players may need to think about what they are taking into a robbery, a police chase, a hunting trip, or a fight in Vice City.
That would make the weapon system more connected to the world.
And with the GTA VI Extended Look scheduled for August 27, 2026, there is a good chance this list will need another update very soon. Watch Rockstar’s official GTA VI Extended Look announcement
For now, the safest conclusion is simple. GTA 6 has a wide and varied weapon lineup, but Rockstar has not finished telling us exactly how the full arsenal will work. The guns we have seen already cover almost every major combat style, from quiet sidearms and classic revolvers to modern carbines, hunting rifles, shotguns, explosives, and everyday objects that can become weapons.
As Rockstar releases more official footage, the difference between confirmed GTA 6 weapons and community identified weapons should become much easier to understand. Until then, this list should be treated as a living guide rather than the final GTA 6 weapon database.
