Solution 5. Edit the Local Security Policy
Make sure you’re logged in as an administrator.
- In Windows search, type secpol.msc and press Enter.
- Go to the following location:
Security Settings > Account Policies > Account Blocking Policy
- Double-click Account Lockout Limit to open the System Settings window.
- To disable account lockout, replace the existing value with a 0 and click Apply to save your changes.
- Click OK and close the window.
Solution 6. Change account properties in lusrmgr
- Type lusrmgr.msc in Windows search and press Enter.
- In the left part of the window, select the Users section.
- On the right, double-click the account you’re having trouble with.
- Account is disabled
- Account is locked out
- Click Apply and Accept.
Solution 7. Restart Windows
If you haven’t been able to sign in yet, you can always choose to restart Windows.
- From the login page, press and hold the Shift key on your keyboard and press Power > Restart.
- Once you have entered the recovery environment, click on Troubleshooter.
- Click Restart this PC.
- Select the Keep your files option if you want to save them.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm your selection and start the restart process.
- Once the restart is complete, you’ll need to go through the initial setup process, including setting up a new user account and Windows settings.
