Zwei: Arges Adventure is an action-filled RPG (role-playing game) developed by Nihon Falcom. A sequel known as Zwei II was released in September 2008. Regarding this game’s title, the gameplay consists of unconventional, two main characters called Pipiro and Pokkle.

About the game

Granvallen is the mysterious world of unexplored floating continents, where the magic once thrived. After five hundred years, Tiara the Princess of the Holy Kingdom of Valence, and Paradys defeated the Demon Lord Vesper at Arches. Granvallen suffered many dispossessions with the magical civilization that soon fade away. Five hundred years later the world of Granvallen heralds in an era of peace. Those who were found to be spelling magic are now nowhere to be found. 

Pipiro and Pokkle the two 14-year-olds lived in a village called Puck, located in Arshes., Both the children spot a cryptic masked man entering their village’s temple one day. They decided to follow him in silence. The man steals, the village’s (six goddess statues) treasures. Pipiro and Pokkle decided to follow the man leaving their village to salvage the statues stolen. And thus the journey and the game begin. 

Gameplay

The game is evocative of dungeon crawlers and focuses on Role Playing Game elements and puzzles. The players can control and swap between two characters such as Pipiro and Pokkle. Pipiro blastoffs magic at enemies whereas Pokkle fights against enemies using a drill weapon. Elemental attacks can be accessed by both the characters to target enemies’ weaknesses. 

Pipiro’s magical elemental spells open up new dungeon areas. Scoring multiple hits on enemies increase the drop ratio of spoils and earns the combo badges, which enables the player to initiate combo attacks that could damage the whole screen. Players begin their adventure at Puck Village, where they can converse with NPC characters to gain clues to endure in the adventure. Arshes are found outside the village where dungeons and other locations can be accessed. Dungeons are separated into several stages, with each stage attaining three floors. 

Each of the stage can be completed in multiple separate orders, although every stage provides a clue outside that displays the recommended Level to be challenged with. A powerful dungeon guard is found at the end of each dungeon, trying to guard the statues. Alternately, defeat the enemies to level up and to gain points is done through consuming food items, which are knockdown by monsters and are also obtained via other methods.
